Would you like to become a patron to save the Sarasota Classic Car Museum?
We are appealing to you for donations to keep the Sarasota Classic Car Museum open and running. We were given notice by our landlord, New College Of Florida, on May 16th to vacate the museum property by the end of June. To maintain the Museum in its present state, we urgently request your donations to help secure the Museum’s survival for future generations.
Specifically designed, when built in March of 1953, to showcase extraordinary and historic cars, the Sarasota Classic Car Museum recently celebrated 70 years of continuous operation. Besides the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, we are the oldest continuously operating car museum in the United States. A vital source of local history and genealogy for locals and visitors, the Museum also provides spaces to hold gatherings and special events. It currently houses 150 classic cars and around 3,000 other historic items and memorabilia.
Museum visitors have until the end of this month to see businessman John Ringling's 1922 Rolls Royce Ghost and his wife Mable's 1923 Pierce Arrow. We are protecting automotive lore of bygone years, recalling people and a way of life that have gone forever while preserving our Sarasota heritage with this vital link with the past.
The Museum is a not for profit run by a dedicated staff and of course volunteers and open to the public daily.
Thank you for your donation and continued support.

Great place!
Shared!
I really REALLY hope you can stay open! I've always wanted to go to one of the classic car meets there.

This would be a cool spot for a wedding
Are you still open?
DeSantis has nothing to do with this! USF needs the space for expansion! The College owns the land! The Car Museum only leases the building.

Local TREASURE..cannot imagine it gone!
Maybe they could rent one of the new warehouses going up along 301. A lot of space is required for that entire operation. Possible it’s cheaper per square foot away from 41 ??. It needs to continue on as a local attraction.🤔
Can we get an update on this..whats current status?
It's sad that after all these years it has to move. The government did not have to step in
Wouldn't the Ringling museum be a good place for those two cars?
You voted for the imbecile de santis, reap what you sew, you deserve it!!
I'm glad I got to visit before hand, I'm so sorry to hear
I can’t lie I wish they had more muscle cars in there
So you’re definitely moving? And Vintage Motors of Sarasota as well? What happens in 11 days?
I live in Sarasota and I grew up here. I put this out on my Facebook. I have friends from preschool on up that are on my Facebook page. I have a lot of friends with money. If I would’ve known this was happening we could’ve raised some money doing some kind of event. Imagine if we would’ve kept the Ringling towers. Sarasota is demolishing a lot of wonderful places that we all love. Let me know if there’s anything I can do to help
Perhaps they can design expansion to leave the car museum & gain space needed. Did they find the stolen car from this weekend?
PLEASE, remove that awful destroyed sign on 41!
I went there numerous times when it was Bellm's Cars and Music of Yesteryear. I have a grand disdain for Imminent Domain. Properties and people treated as cattle.
So after 70 years of being open and charging probably millions of people $19 per person plus making millions of $$$$ for different events that people rent the place out for but you want people to donate money to fight your battles 😂😂😂
The Sarasota Classic Car Museum is pleased to announce that we are extending our 2020 exhibition of The Art of Ferdinand Porsche and Enzo Ferrari. It features classic automobiles that document the history of both brands as well as the two creative engineers and car designers who forged the companies legacies.
Come join us.
We are open 7 days a week from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

will the Porsche and Ferrari exhibition still be there mid-September?
We are happy to announce that Sarasota Classic Car Museum is officially open again. We opened our doors this morning, Monday, May 4, 2020.
The Ferrari and Porsche exhibit is still here and we will keep it longer than originally planned due to the month long closing.
We look forward to seeing you all soon.

How much time would you say is sufficient to spend there?
